The story has been around for a long time. It was originally true, I think. I haven't noticed idiots becoming any scarcer, though, so it's hard to say.

Gorges - I think it has been around a while, but I just saw it again recently and laughed as much as I did the first time.

I love how the dj is speechless when the woman asks him that first question about moving the signs to someplace safer ... "Wouldn't you agree?" And he can't think of anything to say. Priceless.
Mmm, maybe if we moved the signs the deer would cross somewhere else ... what an idea.

Hi Warren, I posted this on my blog and fb a while back as well. There is now even a second call on that radio station website, where this lady owns up to her not being in the know. I've got a couple of links about our Canada Park system - we have observed where the elk and deer naturally cross and have made provision for them. Maybe that's what she meant should happen!! It was so unbelievable to listen to this though - and I'm a city girl! I'll never look at another deer crossing sign the same way again!
